The draw for the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells has been released and Genie is unseeded and will face world No.61 Annika Beck of Germany in the first round.

Indian Wells is a premier mandatory event played on hard courts in the Californian desert. Genie is making her fifth appearance at Indian Wells and her best result was reaching the fourth round in 2014 and 2015. Last year Genie reached the third round and has 65 points to defend.
